Today at the China optical networks Seminar, Director of Science and Technology Committee of China Telecom, Wei Leping pointed that 100Gps transmission market is rapidly mature, and coherent coding technology have been greatly broken. We hope that cost of 100Gps will be 5-6 times than that of 10Gps in the future , but which still need time.

Wei Leping pointed out that as far as the market demands is concerned, Route 2013 will reach maximum capacity requirements of paragraph 10Tb / S, which has reached 100Gps transport demand and scale application will appear in 2015.

At present, although 100Gps coding technology has broke through in DP-QPSK, Wei Leping pointed out, the existing transmission system architecture from 10Gps to 100Gps system, which needs increase 10-fold in OSNR, PMD capacity, spectral efficiency and 100 Times of CD capacity increasing. Although it can be achieved in the basic technology,  the data indicators in the details still need to meet the requirements.
