From scale test of 2010 to commercial use of 2011 on the agenda, the global LTE is developing rapidly. With rapid development in mobile Internet, this trend quickly spread in China. The TD-LTE test was officially launched by China Mobile In Shanghai, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Xiamen six cities to build 1,210 base stations. This makes the industry even more full of expectations on the TD-LTE scale commercial use.

Technology and competitive advantage drive the development of LTE, and future development faces three major challenges

While LTE has higher system performance, and faces three major challenges:

First, LTE takes major improvements in spectrum efficiency into account, but to a certain extent, which leads to the loss of power efficiency and coverage. while the mobile network coverage is just the biggest advantage, and LTE's coverage is rather poor, especially in the voice, the area of coverage is far less than that of 3G;

Second, LTE radio resource scheduling technology is highly complex, which requires adaptive dispatch of resources in time, frequency, space, code, users, community and other six dimensions. The dispatch efficiency and complexity is evident;

Third, LTE lacks applications and business models, and other disadvantages like the complex terminal, too many bands and modes and also supports backward compatibility, such as supporting for WCDMA, GSM, CDMA, to achieve MIMO. A terminal with scale commercial use needs 6-10 bands and 3-4 models, resulting in large power consumption and high cost, which needs to rely on the support of a new generation chip technology in order to realize large-scale cost-effective applications.
