Wu Hequan,Secretary-General of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the former vice president of the Chinese Engineering Academy, said China government needs to give a clear signal to launch IPv6.
February 2011 ICANN claims that there is no more new currently IPv4 address allocation, IPv4 addresses have been still exhausted, and the remaining IPv4 address of China telecom operators can only support up to the end of the year.
At the depth observation of large-scale ICT 2011 conference, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Academician
Wu Hequan talked about IP allocation and the standards, he said that IPv4 and IPv6 co-existence proposal is not clear with the current situation of replacement of IPv4 by IPv6.
"That need to be resolved is to select the IPv6 or NAT technology, because both technologies are firmly opposed." Said Wu Hequan, government departments need to as soon as possible give a clear signal to operators from avoiding NAT technology, because IPv6 and NAT is not compatible with the opposition technique, if the operators don’t adopt the uniform technology, which will be the great issue on the future network interconnection.
