As expected, Telefonica's O2 Europe plc will be the carrier offering Apple Inc.'s iPhone in Britain.

Beginning Nov.9 , the iPhone will be available through retailer Carphone Warehouse and Apple stores throughout the United Kingdom.

Germany's T-Mobile and France's Orange SA are expected to announce their own exclusive deals with Apple soon.

The move to expand beyond the States is one more step down the road of reaching Apple¡¯s goal of selling 10 million units by the end of 2008. The one-millionth iPhone recently was sold, and the recent price cut to $399 may also spark higher volumes.
