The China Internet Network Information Center has published the names of two Internet domain name registrars who have been accused of illegal activities.

Shanghai Jinyue Network Technology Company and Suzhou Huayan Network Technology Company have allegedly sent intimidating emails to terrify Internet users to try to have them change their domain registrars. CNNIC says it will verify the complaint reports and transfer them to the relevant criminal authorities.

This is the first time that CNNIC has published a blacklist of registrar companies since July 24 when the Internet Address Registration Service Industry Self-discipline Convention was signed by more than 40 domestic domain name registrars.

Publishing the name list and giving it to the public is good for users to recognize quality domain name service providers and this also sends a warning to companies that have been providing unregulated and illegal services.
