TC LGroup has denied local media reports that TCL Computer will be acquired by Taiwan computer manufacturer Acer.

    Chinese media has reported that TCL had been seeking a buyer since May 2007 and many PC manufacturers including Founder, HP, Lenovo, Great Wall, Acer and Dell had contacted TCL about an acquisition. Reports say that TCL had reached a consensus with Acer and their transaction was expected to be completed by the end of August.

    Zhang Nan, public relations manager of TCL, says this news is not true because TCL has not made a decision on whom to introduce as their strategic investors.
