PORTLAND,Ore.--The WiMAX Forum® and AT4 wireless announced today the implementation of additional features on the WiMAX Forum Spectrum and Regulatory Database, a database developed in collaboration with AT4 wireless, providing WiMAX Forum member companies worldwide spectrum licensing and regulatory requirements.
Most new features will be implemented by AT4 wireless on July 31, 2007. The official announcement among the WiMAX Forum members was made June 19 in Madrid, Spain, at the WiMAX Forum Member Conference. The WiMAX Forum also confirmed the renewal of the AT4 wireless contract for the maintenance of the current database information at the conference.
Spectrum & Regulatory Database Additional Features:
Add a personal user profile feature which will allow WiMAX Forum members to subscribe/unsubscribe in order to receive specific messages (alerts) and/or newsletters via email.
Alerts: subscribers will receive a notification via e-mail stating that there has been an update in the country.
E-news letter: subscribers will receive a monthly newsletter stating the latest news concerning WiMAX™ technology in the worldwide market (public consultations, licensing auctions, new regulations, etc...).
Information on regional organizations (CEPT, CITEL, APT, CRASA, ECTEL and ASMG) will be included in the database.
Since the official launch of the WiMAX Spectrum & Regulatory Database on November 17, 2006, a total of 165 countries have been included in the database.
